Running is Part of Our Story
Where Run-Specialty Experience Meets Foot-Health Expertise
ShoeLab’s approach to running footwear comes from our connection to Runner’s Block, a running-specialty business that has been part of our history.
When Fit My Feet and Runner’s Block came together under the ShoeLab name, we brought two areas of expertise together:
Run-Specialty Footwear + Professional Foot-Health Expertise
That combination allows us to look at more than simply which running shoe is popular. We consider how you move, what you’re training for, how your feet are shaped, and what you need from your footwear.
Run-Specialty Experience You Can Trust
Monty’s journey with our business began at Fit My Feet, where he developed his passion for footwear and helping customers find solutions that worked for their individual needs. He later moved to Runner’s Block, where he became Store Manager and gained valuable experience in the run-specialty industry, helping runners find footwear suited to their training, goals, and running preferences.
After his time at Runner’s Block, Monty made the decision to return to Fit My Feet with a goal of expanding his expertise and becoming a Certified Pedorthist. He recognized that gaining a deeper understanding of foot mechanics, footwear, and orthotic solutions would allow him to better serve the customers who trusted him with their footwear needs.
After earning his Certified Pedorthist certification, Monty continued building on that knowledge and experience—and today, he brings it all together at ShoeLab.
His journey from Fit My Feet, to Runner’s Block, and back to Fit My Feet before becoming ShoeLab gives him a unique perspective that combines footwear expertise, run-specialty experience, and professional pedorthic knowledge.
That's the ShoeLab difference.
Running experience. Professional expertise. Personalized fitting.
Your Run. Your Goals. Your Fit
No two runners are exactly alike.
Your ideal shoe can depend on factors such as your foot shape, movement, training, mileage, running surface, comfort preferences, and the type of support you need.
That's why we don't believe in simply putting everyone into the same shoe.
During your fitting, we will consider:
Your running or walking goals
Foot length and width
Foot shape
Arch height
Gait and movement patterns
Stability and support needs
Cushioning preferences
Training and mileage
Running experience
Previous footwear preferences
Current or previous discomfort
Foot & Movement Concerns We Consider
Your footwear can play an important role in comfort and support during activity. During your fitting, we can take your individual concerns into consideration when recommending footwear, including:
Flat feet / high arches
Overpronation / supination
Plantar fasciitis concerns
Foot fatigue
General foot soreness
Previous footwear-related discomfort
Shin splints / discomfort
Knee, hip, or lower-back discomfort
